Mumbai: There will be no replacement for left-arm spinner Murali Kartik for the India 'A' team scheduled to play in a Tri-series involving Pakistan 'A' and Sri Lanka 'A' apart from the hosts at Kolkata from December 22-30.

Kartik is scheduled to join the Indian team in Australia for the second Test match beginning on Friday, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) joint secretary, Ratnakar Shetty, told in Mumbai.

The selectors, who met here on Wednesday, had picked 15-member team for India 'A' and Kartik was asked to join the Indian team in Australia later on, there would not be any replacement for the Railway's star for the home series, Shetty added.

However, neither the BCCI secretary S K Nair, who is also the convenor of the selection committee, who announced the India 'A' team nor the chairman of the selection committee and former India stumper Syed Kirmani, who picked the team, were aware of this new development.

Shetty also confirmed that Kartik was already on his way to Australia and would reach there in time for the second Test.
