Facile 10-wicket win for Karnataka

Ahmedabad: Karnataka beat Gujarat by 10 wickets in the elite group B Ranji Trophy match played on Saturday at the Sardar Patel stadium in Motera and gained five points.

Starting with the overnight score of 152 runs, hosts Gujarat added only 20 runs before being bowled out for 172.

Opener Nilesh Modi could garner only 10 runs to his overnight score when he was caught by Stuart Binny off Sunil Joshi. Timil left for pavilion without adding any run to his overnight score of 10 when caught by Robin Utappa off Udit Patel.

Shyamal Bhatt, Siddharth trivedi and Lalit Patel, with single digit score, fell victim to Udit Patel's bowling.

Karnataka, who needed only 29 runs to win the match, managed it in just 7.2 overs. J Arunkumar scored 21 with three hits to the boundary and B Rowland remained not out on seven.
