Sunday, January 4 2004 18:11 Hrs (IST)

Kolkata:India will tour Pakistan from March 1 to middle of April to play three Test matches and five One-dayers, the president of the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI), Jagmohan Dalmiya, announced in Kolkata on Sunday.

Dalmiya said that the details of the itinerary were being worked out by the BCCI in consultation with its counterpart in Pakistan.

''The detailed itinerary is still in the drawing board. We are talking to Pakistan Board officials on this,'' Dalmiya said.

The BCCI president, who was briefing mediapersons after the working committee meeting of the Board, said that the Indian cricket team would also go to Bangladesh on its return from Pakistan to play two Test matches and three One-dayers.

Indian players would be given a couple of months' rest after their Bangladesh trip following which they would leave for playing the Asia Cup in July.

After that they would participate in a tri-series involving India, Pakistan and Australia in August in Europe, the BCCI chief said.

''The exact venue of the tri-series is yet to be finalised. It will be either in Scotland, Ireland or Holland,'' Dalmiya said.

The Indian team is also scheduled to play three One-dayers in England on September 1, 3 and 5 in the run-up to the Champions Trophy slated to begin from September 10next, he added.
