Indian colts crush Kenya by 116 runs

Lucknow:A 145-run second wicket partnership between opener Rahul Parmar (67) and Vipin Kumar (55) helped India register an impressive 116-run victory against Kenya in a league match of the U-19 Commonwealth Cricket Championship at the K D Singh Babu stadium in Lucknow.

The Kenyans never appeared confident enough to reach the 243 run victory target set by the India and was bowled out for 126 runs in 39.2 overs.

Ashutosh Sharma took five wickets while Aseem Gupta chipped in with two wickets.

Earlier, electing to bat, India score 242 runs at the loss of six wicket in the alloted 45 overs.

It was not a good start for the host, who lost their first wicket with just one run on the board, but Parmar and kumar showed confidence and added 145 runs for the second wicket before the former was stumped by Timothy off Rashmi Kunverji.

Later Vikram Dhariwal hit a quickfire 60 not out in just 53 balls to take the score near to the 250 run mark.

Kunverji claimed four wickets while Rajesh Budhia and Hiren Ashok took one wicket each for the visitors.
