| It's two in a row for Vidharbha Monday, January 5 2004 20:16 Hrs (IST) | |
Helped by a four-wicket haul by Sandeep Singh, Vidharbha restricted the railmen to a modest 164 and then recovered well from some early setbacks to win with five balls to spare. Sandeep Singh (4/20) wrecked the fancied Railway batting lineup before middle-order batsman Yere Gaud (45) and Shreyas Khanolkar (42) gave their total some respectability. Umesh Patil (2/29) gave good support to Sandeep Singh. Vidharbha also received some early jolts during their chase but Amit Deshpande (42) and M Acharya (39 no) ensured a memorable victory for their side. In another encounter, Uttar Pradesh had no problem in overcoming the 212 run target set by the hosts, reaching the mark in 48.4 overs. | |
