|East Zone prevails over West in a thriller|

Backed by a polished knock of 56 by Kiran Pawar and a useful 30 by skipper Debang Gandhi, East Zone reached the winning target of 227 with one ball to spare and one wicket in hand.
Earlier, Gandhi invited West Zone to bat first after winning the toss and despite some early setbacks, the visitors put up a fighting score of 226 for the loss of 8 wickets in their 50 overs.
Hrishikesh Kanitkar top scored for West Zone with a knock of 57 as he pulled out his team from trouble after opener Niranjan Godbole and star batsman Vinod Kambli were dismissed cheaply.
Kambli scored 23 with the help of five boundaries before offering an easy catch to Anirban Chatterjee off Shib Shankar Paul. Godbole was out in the fourth over.
East Zone's chase saw them steadily approaching the victory target despite losing wickets at regular intervals. The reached a tantalising finish when East Zone levelled the score 226 with only two balls left. Shiv Shankar Paul managed to take the winning run in the next ball to clinch the victory.
