Devendra Bundela steers Central Zone home

Agartala:Guided by a scintillating unbeaten knock of 73 by Devendra Bundela, Central Zone defeated fancied West Zone by three wickets in their last league encounter in the Deodhar trophy Limited Overs cricket tournament in Agartala on Saturday.

Bundela (3x4) treated with disdain the rival bowling attack, to help Central reach 259 for seven with four balls to spare in reply to 258 for six amassed by West Zone at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Stadium.

Besides the prolific Bundela, Gagan Khoda (45), Rohit Prakash (23), T P Singh (29) and J P Yadav (42) made valuable contributions to the Central innings.

Earlier, opener Vinayk Mane's stylish 102 (139 b, 185 m, 6x4) helped West notch up the competitive total.

The other West opener Satyajit Parab made a quickfire 40off 43 balls.

Niraj Patel (28), Ramesh Power (27) and contributed some valuable runs in the latter part of West's essay.

West Zone: 258 for six in 50 overs ( V Mane 102) lost to Central Zone 259 for seven in 49.2 overs (D Bundela 73 no).
