Bevan, back after fracturing his rib, and the 26-year-old Haddin were the only additions to the 13-man squad that beat India 2-0 in the tri-series finals that ended Sunday with a 208-run thrashing of the tourists in Sydney.
Bevan broke his rib midway through the tri-series against India and Zimbabwe.
Chief selector Trevor Hohns said the tour of Sri Lanka beginning with a One-day match on February 20 would be a major challenge for the 15-man squad coming hard on the heels of the triangular series and the Indian Test tour.
"Playing in the subcontinent and taking on Sri Lanka presents a real challenge to this group, but we feel that 15 players will give us adequate depth and the necessary firepower to do the job," Hohns said.
"Michael Bevan's return to the squad following injury is welcomed, and we feel that a back-up wicketkeeper to support Adam Gilchrist is also necessary," Hohns said.
"Brad Haddin performed well when called into the squad during the VB Series and this touring experience should help in his overall development as a senior cricketer," he said.
Fast bowler Michael Kasprowicz, who replaced Andy Bichel for the tri-series final, was also retained.
"In the pace-bowling department, we have included Michael Kasprowicz, who despite not playing during the two VB Series finals, is a proven performer on subcontinental wickets," Hohns said.
"His performance over a long period of time has been first-rate."
The Test squad for the Sri Lanka tour will be named on February 20.
Australia: Ricky Ponting (captain), Adam Gilchrist (vice-captain), Michael Bevan, Michael Clarke, Jason Gillespie, Brad Haddin, Ian Harvey, Matthew Hayden, Brad Hogg, Michael Kasprowicz, Simon Katich, Brett Lee, Damien Martyn, Andrew Symonds, Brad Williams
