"It is a positive announcement. We were never in doubt about India's tour," Khan said.
The PCB chief was reacting to Indian External Affairs minister Yashwant Sinha's announcement in New Delhi that the Indian cricket team will tour Pakistan as per schedule.
The PCB spokesman Sami-ul Hassan said the news of the Indian Government giving the go-ahead to the cricket tour has come as a great relief and promised "extra-ordinary" security and other arrangements for the Indian team.
"It is a great sigh of relief for us. We are thankful to the Indian Foreign Minister and the Indian Government for giving this great news at a time when there were reports in the media that the tour may be called off," Hassan said.
He said the inputs from the three-member Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) delegation, currently in Pakistan to review the security and other arrangements, would have been taken into consideration by the Indian Government before arriving at this positive decision.
Emphasising that the PCB and Pakistan Government were making perfect arrangements for the Indian team, he said the BCCI team members had seen everything on the ground and were convinced that the arrangements were as per requirements.
"We promise you that the Indian team will be provided extraordinary security and other arrangements and we are hundred per cent confident that the tour will go trouble-free and controversy-free", Hassan said.
He said the 140 million people of Pakistan are eagerly waiting for the first tour by an Indian team in 15 years and with the success of the tour not only the game of cricket would be winner but the two Governments would also emerge as winners.
