''I am not joining any political party but there would be no hesitation on my part to campaign if any of my best friends approaches me,'' Dev said replying to a query whether he had been approached by any party to campaign.
''In the past, I canvassed for Chetan Chauhan (BJP) and (Late) Madhav Rao Sindhia (Congress). They were from different parties. Still I campaigned because of good friendship with the duo,'' said Dev, who was in Ranchi in connection with a charity match organised by Kinetic automobile.
On the reports of his entering bollywood, he said ''if anybody invites me for a muhurat of a film, does it mean I am joining film. Can film stars and industrialists become cricketers just because they play exhibition matches.
Responding to queries on India's dismal performance during the recently concluded One-day series final against Australia, he said India had played the Test series very well, but not the One-day finals.
Stating that he was ready to play in whatever role the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wanted him to, the former all-rounder said, ''all veterans will definitely contribute in whatever way the BCCI wants to but ultimately, it is the BCCI which has to decide in what way it wants to utilise our services.''
