Wednesday, February 18 2004 19:50 Hrs (IST)

Islamabad:Pakistan has informed India that it would take a liberal view in granting visas to Indian cricket fans wishing to visit Pakistan to watch upcoming Indo-Pak cricket matches and said that all those who have valid tickets would be permitted to cross over.

The assurance to take liberal view over granting visas was given by Pakistan Foreign Secretary Riaz Khokar to his Indian counterpart, Shashank, when the two met in Islamabad to discuss the modalities and time frame for the composite dialogue process.

Shashank told reporters after the meeting that the forthcoming tour of the Indian cricket team to Pakistan figured during the talks and Pakistan has assured to give visas to all the Indian fans who buy the tickets.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said recently that it planned to sell the tickets though online booking and also tickets may be sold through Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) outlets.

Shashank said Pakistan was keenly looking forward to host the series. The Indian team is scheduled to tour Pakistan next month to play three Tests and five One-day Internationals.
