Friday, February 20 2004 16:56 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi:Government's views on the suitability of venues in Pakistan and the duration of the matches is likely to be conveyed to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after which the BCCI is expected to finalise the itinerary for the team's tour starting next month.

A scheduled meeting of Intelligence Bureau joint director Yashovardhan Azad, who was among the three-member delegation that visited Pakistan last week to review the security measures, with the Home Ministry officials did not take place, sources said.

"We expect to be informed by the Government (of its views) anytime on Friday. There will be an informal meeting with the BCCI president (Jagmohan Dalmiya) to brief him on the developments after which the itinerary will be decided," BCCI's director of communications Amrit Mathur said in New Delhi.

The informal meeting involving Dalmiya was to be held in Kolkata over the weekend, Mathur said.
