Dubai:The United States will play their first ever official One-day Internationals in September after winning the Six Nations Challenge.

The Americans beat Scotland by five wickets and made sure of their place at the ICC Champions Trophy in England later this year courtesy of a better run rate compared to the Scots.

The USA edged past Scotland's 206 in the 48th over to improve their run-rate to a slender 0.027.

Former West Indies Test batsman Clayton Lambert top scored with 60 for the USA, who finished on 208 for five, while Gavin Hamilton hit 60 for the Scots.

America's reward for the win will be matches against world champions Australia as well as New Zealand at the ICC tournament.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands saw their chances of qualifying for England crushed when they lost to the United Arab Emirates.

Holland, Scotland and the USA all finished with six points, but America claimed the one qualifying place by virtue of their superior net run rate.
