Maharashtra qualifies for Plate finals

Pune:Maharashtra produced a strong all-round performance to score an emphatic ten-wicket victory over Haryana in the semi-finals and advance to the Ranji Trophy Plate final at the Nehru stadium in Pune.

Chasing a target of 592, Haryana were all out for 364 in their second innings.

Openers Chetan Sharma (61) and S Singh (87) gave Haryana a good start, but the other batsmen failed to capitalise on it. Shafiq Khan however put up a good fight, scoring 66 runs.Amit Mishra also chipped in by scoring 45 runs while Ajay Ratra scored 39.

K Adhav and K Khadkikar claimed five and four wickets respectively for Maharashtra.

Earlier, sparkling knocks by D Jadhav (132), Hrishikesh Kanitkar (180) and Satyajit Satbhai (119) helped Maharashtra put up a huge total.
