Kolkata:After his impressive showing in Australia the young fast bowler Irfan Pathan is currently working hard to perfect the basics to continue the good showing in the crucial Pakistan tour.

Pathan, who is working hard at the conditioning camp in Kolkataalongwith the Pakistan bound Indian team, expressed confidence of performing well at such a crucial tour as an opening bowler.

"I am enjoying the prospects of bowling alongside Zaheer Khan. He is a great help and always gives me tips. We vibe pretty well. It will be fun bowling with him," the young bowler said.

When asked what were his focus areas during this camp, he said, "sharing the new ball has thrust greater responsibility on me. I am aware of the demand that comes alongwith it. I am working on the basics and trying to perfect the line and length and get the little things in order. It is these thingswhich will help".

Speaking on the pressure of performing Pathan, who jumped straight from the Under-19 level to the big league, expressed confidence that experience gained during the series Down Under would help to overcome this.

"I am consistently trying to keep the pressure away from me. The Aussie tour has given me lots of experience and I will like to carry with me all experiences and other qualities that I have learnt there to Pakistan," Pathan said.

Pathan, who has played in Pakistan during the Asia Cup Under-19 tournament, however, said that the situation in Pakistan is different from Australia.

"It is much like in India and so I am working on the ways I need to bowl in the subcontinent," he said adding that, "I have played in Lahore and I know what kind of ground they have there. But I am not sure about the other grounds in Pakistan but still I think I am good enough for it."

When asked about the newly appointed bowling consultant Kapil Dev, the young bowler said, "he is a great bowler, has lots of experience and he has been sharing those experiences with us. He also gave us lessons on how to concentrate and focus on the game".
