"Sachin (Tendulkar) has a stiff back. And so he was asked to take it easy. He did not come out to field in the later half of the day," Indian team physiotherapist Andrew Leipus said.
Leipus, however, said that the batting genius was an absolute certainty for the coming tour to Pakistan. "The problem is indeed very minor. These things are part and parcel of cricket."
Tendulkar has been undergoing physiotherapy under the guidance of the physio and has been advised to take rays as also follow some exercise routines.
Tendulkar's discomfort showed as he put up a dismal show with the bat, being dismissed three times in succession on miserly scores of 0, 0 and 4.
Tendulkar, who had skipped a batting stint in the team's net session on the opening day of the three-day conditioning camp, also did not come in to field when his side India 'A' came on to field in the afternoon session.
On Sunday, he had confined himself to a fitness routine at the indoor gymnasium in the Eden Gardens before doing some physical exercises on the ground.
