New Delhi:Prasar Bharti has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court to make it a party in case Ten Sports approaches the Apex Court challenging the Chennai High Court ruling asking the channel to allow Doordarshan (DD) to telecast the Indo-Pak series.

Sources in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Prasar Bharti said that the move is to prevent any ex-prate order being passed by the Supreme Court in the matter.

Asked whether Ten Sports had approached the Supreme Court in this matter, R K Singh (Advisor to the channel's distributor) said, "we have not approached Supreme Court. We will take a decision only after we get to see the Chennai High Court Order".

Earlier, the Chennai High court directed Ten Sports to permit DD to telecast the Indo-Pak series commencing from Saturday, which the channel said it would do. The direction was given by a division bench of the High court, comprising Chief Justice B Subhashan Reddy and Justice M Thanikachalam, while hearing a petition seeking a direction to TRAI to secure the telecasting rights from the private Ten Sports for Prasar Bharati.

The Bench also directed Doordarshan to use the logo of Ten Sports and carry their commercials in all the telecasts.
