Chennai:The Chennai High Court on Friday suggested to Ten Sports to permit Doordarshan to telecast the India-Pakistan cricket series commencing from Saturday.

Suggesting to Ten Sports to allow the terrestrial rights to Prasar Bharati, while hearing a petition pertaining to the telecast of the series, a division bench comprising Chief Justice B Subhashan Reddy and Justice M Thanikachalam, also suggested that the Doordarshan use the logo of Ten Sports while telecasting the commercials also. The final order will be given later on Friday.

The bench also asked Prasar Bharati to deposit an unspecified amount towards payment to Ten Sports for the revenue that it would receive for including its advertisements during the telecast.

Additional Solicitor General, V T Gopalan, sought time to consult Prasar Bharati about the amount to be deposited. He also said that there was no need to deposit any amount because Ten Sports would benefit by the telecast by Doordarshan.
