New Delhi:The Indian distributor of Ten Sports, the exclusive telecast rights holder of India-Pakistan matches, on Monday gave a veiled threat that no signal may come to India for the matches after Supreme Court directed it to give the telecast signals to Doordarshan (DD).

The TAJ TV Private (India) Ltd told the Apex Court that it does not own the rights over the telecast signals generated from Pakistan and giving simultaneous telecast feed to DD was a breach of its contract with the original telecast rights holder, TAJ TV Private Ltd, Dubai.

It, therefore, expressed apprehensions that the signals of live telecast may not be shown in India at all. The Court directed Ten Sports to provide live telecast signals of One-day matches between India and Pakistan to Doordarshan.

Keeping in mind the Ten Sports' appeal for final hearing on March 17, the court directed Doordarshan and Prasar Bharti to deposit Rs 10 crore with the Registrar General of the Supreme Court, pending adjudication of the dispute.

The court directed DD to carry the signals of Ten Sports along with the advertisements given by the foreign sports channel during the live telecast of the matches.
