Kolkata:The Pakistan-bound Indian cricket team on Sunday started their three-day conditioning camp with a brief practice session, though delayed by unseasonal rains in the city since Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Barring Yuvraj Singh and Ashish Nehra the remaining 13 members of the team attended the camp which started nearly two hours late at around 03:00 hours (IST).

Both Yuvraj and Ashish are currently playing in the Duleep Trophy final match at Mohali.

Since the turf at the Eden Gardens was wet due to rains, the players started the day with short session at the gym and then moved out as the weather improved.

Team coach John Wright, who arrived in Kolkata on Sunday morning, was supervising the practice session along with physical trainer Gregory Allen King and physio Andrew Leipus as the players went through their paces during the nearly three-hour session.

Most of the players like Mohammed Kaif, Hemang Badani, Zahir Khan and Laxmipathy Balaji had arrived in the city on Saturday night while vice-captain Rahul Dravid, little master Sachin Tendulkar and stylish batsman V V S Laxman flew in on Sunday morning.

The team would move to New Delhi at the end of the camp on March 9 and leave for Lahore on March 10 for the historic first full-fledged tour of Pakistan in nearly 15 years.

The current team has been picked for the five One-day matches to be played in the first half of the series followed by three Test matches for which the team would be selected on March 22.
