Kolkata:Indian vice-captain Rahul Dravid visualised a vital role for Indian spinners in the coming tour to Pakistan, saying that the visiting slow bowlers had traditionally played a big part when the neighbouring nation had lost on home grounds.

''Spinners are going to play a role in Pakistan,'' Dravid said when asked whether amidst the big hype surrounding the pacers ahead of the tour, he saw any major role for slow bowlers.

''As a rule we have seen that slow bowlers of touring sides had played big parts to demolish Pakistan on home soil,'' he added.

On the absence of the injured spin duo of Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble and Ajit Agarkar from the Indian team, he said that their absence would be felt, though it afforded a good opportunity for the youngsters to prove their mettle.

Dravid also sounded confident that the three-day camp was enough for the final preparations ahead of the tour. ''The guys have been following some practice schedule. The main purpose here is for all the players to gather and stay together to get the feeling of the team''.

Dravid said that his side was not concerned with the controversial bowling action of Pakistan pacer Shabbir Ahmed, as such matters were dealt with by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

To another query, Dravid said that playing the One-dayers in the first few days of the tour would not pose any problems for his side. ''It does not make any difference to us whether we play the One-dayers or the Tests first. We play so much cricket nowadays that we are quite adept in adjusting to both forms of the game quickly during a trip''.
