Peshawar:After going down 2-1 to Pakistan in the five-match One-day cricket series, captain Sourav Ganguly on Friday said the team would not make the excuse of missing key players and that the youngsters have to pull their socks up in the remainder of the series.

"Yes, we did miss a player or two but that is how the game goes. The youngsters have to step up and deliver," Ganguly said after the four-wicket loss at the Arbab Niaz stadium in Peshawar.

He said India were in the match at the fall of Yasir Hameed, who made 98, but the 74-run partnership between Abdul Razzaq and Moin Khan for the unbroken seventh wicket gave the hosts the victory.

"Inzamam-ul Haq and Hameed batted well after we had them for 65 for four and we came back again when they were six down for 173 but Razzaq and Moin (Khan) really played well," he said.
