Peshawar:Pakistan captain Inzamam-Ul-Haq did not forget the opening provided to his team by seamer Shabbir Ahmed who ripped through the Indian top order in a sensational new ball spell.

Inzamam had asked India to bat first in the first One-dayer at Karachi too, but his bowlers were too erratic in line and length to impose themselves on the batsmen and the visitors went on to post 349 for a narrow five-run win.

Inzamam said his bowlers did not let him down on Friday.

"We did not relax after those early wickets. We did not get wickets in the middle session but the Indians played well. The wicket supported the bowlers early and Shabbir did bowl a few wides and no balls but soon he started bowling a difficult line and length for the batsmen," he said.

Man of the match Hameed said staying positive fetched him the runs on the Peshawar pitch that bucked the trend of high scoring games in the series.

"It was seaming a lot and there was support to bowlers. I kept my thinking positive, I curbed my strokes and was determined not to lose my wicket," Hameed said.
