Multan:Stand-in skipper Rahul Dravid was a proud man as India put themselves in a strong position to record their first Test win on Pakistan soil in Multan on Wednesday.

"I am proud to lead the team. The way the players have carried themselves on the field is fantastic. All the young players are performing and doing their part," said Dravid, who is leading the team in Ganguly's absence.

Following on, Pakistan were 207 for 9 in their second innings and need 61 more to avoid an innings defeat after the fourth day's play in the first cricket Test.

India's all-round performance saw the team requiring just one wicket on Thursday to register their first-ever win on Pakistan soil.

"It was fantastic effort. We maintained the intensity through out, kept the ball at right areas," Dravid said.

The stand-in skipper was all praise for Anil Kumble and Irfan Pathan.

"Anil always gives his 100 per cent. My admiration for him keeps growing every day. He never let us down," he said referring to Kumble's 6-71 that left Pakistan struggle at 207 for nine at stumps on Wedneday.

"Irfan's attitude is terrific. He is a brilliant bowler and doing fantastic since making his debut in Australia," said the captain.
