Islamabad:Asking people not to be despondent about losing to India in the recent cricket matches, Pakistan reminded critics that despite the series loss, Pakistanis won the hearts of Indians as very good hosts.

Answering questions about strong criticism in the media over Pakistan losing the One-day and Test series to India, Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman, Masood Khan said while the team lost, Pakistan won the image of being good hosts.

"We have won too. Pakistanis were very good hosts and many Indian journalists have written about it. We have lost gracefully. We have learnt our lessons. We will do better next time. There is no such thing in sports and life as final victory and final defeat," he said.

"There are going to be more matches in future and we should be prepared for it. Introspection is a good thing but self-flagellation is not really health," he said in reply to a question.
