Bangalore:Friends XI CC beat Yuvaka Sangha by a huge margin of 221 runs on Tuesday in a first round match of the Y S R Memorial State level tournament at the M V I T grounds. It was K V Darshan, who cracked an unbeaten double-century who figured in Friends XI CC's win.

Darshan, who turned 15 on Monday, had 25 hits to the rope in his innings. It was his second wicket partnership worth 349 runs with left-hander S Niranjan that proved disastrous for the Yuvaka Sangha. Niranjan made 133 and hit 18 fours in the process.

This is Darshan's second double-century. Earlier, Darshan had scored 201 not out against Seshadripuram High School in the BTR.

After being put in to bat, The Friends Eleven CC made a mamoth 378 runs in 49 overs for the loss of two wickets. Darshan's onslaught was too much for Yuvaka Sangha and in the end they had to give away 10 runs as penalty for being one over short.

Set to score 379 from 49 overs, Yuvaka Sangha were again tortured by Darshan. This time it was his leg spin that spelt doom for them. Darshan picked up four wickets for 33 runs in eight overs. Yuvaka Sangha were all out for 157.

Brief Scores:

Friends XI CC 378 for 2 in 49 overs (K V Darshan 200 not out, S Niranjan 133) beat Yuvaka Sangha 157 all out (Kiran Kumar 60, Naveen 22) by 221 runs.
