Anas Mullah fashions MCC's victory

Bangalore:Medium pacer Anas Mullah picked up 5 for 43 from 10 overs to help Modern C C register an emphatic eight wicket victory over Aristocrat C C Bellary in the opening match of the prestigious Y S Ramaswamy memorial State level tournament at the K T Palace ground in Bangalore.

The visitors from Bellary who opted to bat were rocked by Anas Mullah's pace before they could settle down. Anas picked up the first three wickets to have the Aristocrats on the mat at 36 for three. Left-arm medium pacer Abrar Kazi picked two more before Devendra (56, 10 fours), Prashanth (25, 4 fours) and Shashab (29, 3 fours) helped them reach 170 for seven. Anas returned to pick up two more wickets to halt Aristocrat innings at 173 off 34 overs.

In reply, Modern C C got off to a good start with Himmath Singh Shekhawat (76, 7 fours&3 sixes) and Atiff (25, 5 fours) giving them a solid 83 run opening stand. Satyajit with 41 not out and Premnath with an unbeaten 20 saw Modern through without any further loss. Basha was the only successful bowler picking up two for 38 from eight overs.
