Kolkata:Tainted first-class cricketer Abhijit Kale expressed confidence that he would prove his innocence in the bribery charge against him even as the three-member disciplinary committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) began its hearing in Kolkata on Thursday.

"I am confident that I will come out clean whatever be the accusations against me," Kale said ahead of his hearing before the BCCI committee, headed by its president Jagmohan Dalmiya.

Two vice presidents of the Board, Kamal Morarka and Ranbir Singh Mahendra are the other members of the committee.

Kale is accused of offering Rs 10 lakh to two national selectors, Kiran More (West) and Pranab Roy (East), for a berth in the Indian cricket team last November.

Roy and More also joined the meeting, the proceedings of which began at 12:00 noon.
