Kolkata :Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly on Monday said that despite some prior apprehensions, the Pakistan tour turned out to be one of the 'best series' for him.

"It was a good experience for us. We were really worried before embarking on the tour, but once we landed there all apprehensions disappeared. After being there for over a month, I feel that the tour turned out to be one of the best series for me," Ganguly said at a felicitation ceremony for him by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Kolkata on Monday.

The Indian skipper said, "it was a different series than in any part of the world."

Responding to a query on his success formula which made him the most successful captain of India, Ganguly said, "It is not the captain only who makes up the team. All the 14 players in the squad play crucial roles. I am very lucky to get a very good bunch of cricketers at my disposal."

The Indian skipper named Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag and V V S Laxman as great influences on the team.
