Islamabad:Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, whose supporters dug up a cricket pitch in Delhi in their bid to thwart Pakistan team's visit in 1999, said he would welcome the neighbours if they visited the country.

"We will welcome Pakistan team's visit to India," Thackeray told Geo TV.

The Sena chief said the recent Indo-Pak series might have helped improve the political climate but cricket alone will not be enough to improve bilateral relations.

"The relations can improve only if there was heart-to-heart relations.

"Feel good or not, dil (heart) should be good," he said adding "cricket alone will not be enough to improve relations."
