Delhi cops busts betting racket on Lords Test

New Delhi:With the arrest of three persons, Delhi police claimed to have busted a betting racket on the Test cricket match between England and New Zealand in London.

Puran Chand, Harsh Sharma and Tulsi Sharma were apprehended by sleuths of the special cell in a house in Jangpura Extension in south Delhi , police said.

Six mobile phones, a landline, a colour television and a note book were recovered from them.

Upon interrogation, they revealed that they were working for one Sanjay Jain and the betting rates were obtained from one Shiboo in Jaipur, police claimed.

All three were arrested for gambling earlier also, they said.

Police said about Rs 20 lakh was placed as bets every day during the match, which ended on Monday.
