Ranji captains and coaches to meet in Mumbai

Mumbai:The one-day Ranji Trophy captains and coaches conclave, which has been convened in Mumbai on Thursday by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is aimed at getting first hand information about the Ranji matches played in the 2003-04 season.

It will also help the BCCI to take necessary steps to further strengthen the structure of the domestic cricket currently in vogue, BCCI joint secretary Ratnakar Shetty, said in a press release on Wednesday.

The meeting, scheduled to commence at 11 a m, is to be presided over by BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya and its technical committee chairman and former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar.

S K Nair, the BCCI secretary, its treasurer Jyoti Bajpai and Shetty would be present at the meeting.
