Ahmedabad:West Zone national selector and former Indian wicketkeeper Kiran More welcomed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) disciplinary committee's decision to ban Maharashtra cricketer Abhijit Kale for trying to influence the selectors.

"I welcome the decision of the BCCI to ban Kale till December 31, 2004," More said in Ahmedabad.

More along with East Zone selector Pranab Roy had complained to the Board that Kale had offered them bribe of Rs 10 lakh for selection in the Indian team.

"We submitted all the evidence that we had in the case and that is all I have to say," More said when asked as to why did the BCCI curtail the tainted cricketer's punishment for absence of direct proof.
