Bangalore:The much-awaited visit to the city of former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes for imparting training to wards of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has been put off.

According to NCA sources, Rhodes, best known for his exploits in the fielding department, has accepted the offer to become a fielding consultant for NCA for a brief period but would not pay a visit to the city this month as was originally planned.

"Jonty's wife is expecting so he has expressed his unwillingness to visit now. He has agreed to come later," an NCA official said.

Fresh dates of his visit would be finalised later, it was stated.

Rhodes was earlier scheduled to arrive in Bangalore this month for a week to share his experiences and pass on a few tips, particularly related to fielding. Besides NCA wards, the authorities had planned to have a few India 'A' players interact with Rhodes.

Meanwhile, a month-long annual camp for Under-22 cricketers commenced at NCA on Tuesday.
