Islamabad:Javed Miandad, who has been unceremoniously sacked as the national coach hit out at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), saying that terminating his services in the middle of term and hiring a new coach was a "breach of contract".

"I am disappointed that my contract has been terminated," Miandad, who has been replaced by former South African coach Bob Woolmer, said.

"My contract is until April 2005. It is a breach of contract even if they make an attempt to hire another coach before that period," Miandad said.

The Pakistan coach, who was earlier allowed to complete his full term despite Pakistan's first-ever defeat against archrivals India at home recently, said, "I cannot be held responsible for the defeat against India. You cannot blame a single person. It is a defeat of the whole team."

PCB had offered Miandad to serve as national advisor on cricket development but the former Test cricketer refused to accept the post citing "personal reasons".
