The Indian team will play both Tests and One-dayers during the tour, which would stretch till January next year, sources said.
India were originally scheduled to visit Bangladesh in April this year after the conclusion of the team's engagements in Pakistan. But the tour was called off as the Pakistan itinerary continued as late as April 17.
''So now the cricket Boards of the two countries have decided that the tour, which is due, will finally take place from December this year to January 2005,'' the sources said.
However, the fixture and schedule were yet to be finalised.
The Bangladesh tour comes as the last lap of a gruelling schedule for the Indian team in the coming months, beginning with the July 16-August 1 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, followed by a triangular series involving Australia and Pakistan at Amstelveen in Netherlands from August 21.
The team will then move to England, where they play three One-dayers and the Champions Trophy before hosting Australia and South Africa in October and November respectively.
