London:The resumption of cricketing ties between India and Pakistan had an incredible impact on the relations between the two neighbours that demonstrated the ability of international sport to transcend politics and build understanding between nations, International Cricket Council (ICC) president Ehsan Mani said.

"I was privileged to be present for part of this series and to see the incredible impact of these matches on the relationship between these two neighbours. It was a tangible demonstration of the ability of international sport to transcend politics and build understanding between nations," Mani said while addressing the ICC cricket business forum.

He was also all praise for the way ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was conducted in Bangladesh earlier this year.

"After witnessing this tournament, if there was an Olympic event for cricket passion, Bangladesh would surely have to be favourites for the gold medal," he said.
