London:The International Cricket Council (ICC) stuck to its decision to debar Zimbabwe from playing Test matches until the end of the year while allowing it to continue playing One-dayers.

The ICC decision would mean England's proposed tour of the troubled African nation in November was still on, albeit they would be restricted to playing just four or five One-day Internationals.

However, the ICC said Zimbabwe would be allowed to fulfil its Test match commitments from January next year when it plays against Bangladesh.

"The Test matches scheduled to be played by Zimbabwe against Pakistan and England before the end of the year will be deferred to a date yet to be determined," ICC president Ehsan Mani told a press conference after the annual meeting of the game's world governing body.

"Zimbabwe will continue to play One-day Internationals scheduled under the future tours programme including those scheduled against England and Pakistan in October and November and the ICC Champions Trophy in England this September," he said.
