Australia to tour India from Sept 30 to Nov 7

Mumbai:The visiting Australian cricketers would commence their tour of India with a three-day match against the Board President's XI on September 30 before plunging into the back-to-back four-Test series against the hosts.

The Tests would be held between October 6 and November 7 at venues to be decided by the working committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at its meeting in New Delhi on July 18 and 19, according to Board sources.

The dates and venues of the visit by South Africa for a two-Test series in November would also be finalised at the BCCI's meeting in New Delhi.

It has been agreed by the respective Boards that the Proteas would make a second visit in November-December next year to complete their reciprocal quota of seven One-day Internationals by taking part in a triangular series.

The dates of the tour by Australia are as follows:

Sept 30-Oct 2: vs Board President's XI

Oct 6-10: First Test

Oct 14-18: Second Test

Oct 26-30: Third Test

Nov 3-7: Fourth and final Test.
