Mumbai:Union Sports Minister Sunil Dutt supported the initiative to stage a One-day series (Sadbhavana series) between a combined Indo-Pak XI and Rest of the World XI in four venues later this year or early next year.

"I strongly support the initiative of Citizen Council for a Better Tomorrow (CCBT) under the leadership of former Sheriff of Mumbai F T Khorakiwala in organising Sadbhavana series as it would bring about a harmony in our relations with our neighbour Pakistan," Dutt said in a statement.

"This series would further cement our friendly social ties. It would certainly be a good historic event, which would generate social warmth between the people from both countries and I extend my best wishes for the conduct of the series," he added.

Top Indian and Pakistani cricketers are proposed to take on a Rest of the World XI in four One-day matches to be held in Mumbai, Kolkata, Lahore and England.
