BCCI's crucial working committee meeting begins

Kolkata:The crucial meeting of the working committee (WC) of the of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) began in Kolkata on Monday morning to take up important issues like the telecasting rights of cricket matches in the country for the next three years as well as the contract system of payments for cricketers.

The Board president Jagmohan Dalmiya said before the meeting that all the 26 members of the WC have reached the city for the meeting.

Apart from Dalmiya, secretary S K Nair, four vice-presidents and other office bearers and committee members were attending the meeting.

The main agenda of the meeting, however, is finalisation of the annual report and accounts of the board for the next month's annual general meeting.

But other important issues like the telecasting rights, the bids for which were opened in Mumbai on Saturday, and the introduction of contract system for Indian cricketers would also come under discussions.
