Kolkata:Doubts have been raised over the hosting of the proposed One-dayer between India and Pakistan at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 14 with the Kolkata police objecting to the match in view of the simultaneous occurrence of Kali Puja and Eid festivals.

"The Kolkata police has verbally conveyed their objection to the hosting of the match on that date," Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) secretary Babloo Koley said in Kolkata on Friday.

He said the police have cited the immersion of Kali Puja on November 14 and Eid celebration the next day as reasons for their inability to provide adequate forces for the high-pitched battle between the archrivals.

The One-dayer was proposed to be hosted at the Eden as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Koley said that any possible change in the venue or the date of the day-and-night tussle would be decided only after BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya returned from Holland.

"Any decision on the matter entirely depends on the Board president. We are waiting for his return," he said.
