Tendulkar to play for Mumbai against Aussies

Mumbai:Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, who has been sidelined due to a tennis elbow in the on-going ICC Champions Trophy in England, and medium pacer Ajit Agarkar, were likely to play for Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai against world champions Australia in the three-day cricket match at Hyderabad from September 30 to October two.

Tendulkar, if fully fit, would join the Mumbai team at Hyderabad while Agarkar would be joining the team for the side game, Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) selection committee chairman and former India skipper Dilip Vengsarkar said in a statement in Mumbai on Monday.

The selection committee also picked leg-spinner Sairaj Bahutule to lead the 15-member Mumbai team for the three-day game as well as for the five-day Irani Trophy match against the Rest of India to be held at Mohali from September 22 to 26.

Tendulkar, if fully fit, will join the team in Hyderabad for the three-day tie against Australia while Agarkar would join the team in Hyderbad.

The team: Sairaj Bahutule (capt), Vinod Kambli (v-capt), Vinayak Mane, Wasim Jaffer, Bhavin Thakkar, Vinit Indulkar, Amol Muzumdar, Vinayak Samant (WK), Ramesh Powar, Avishkar Salvi, Swapnil Hazare, Nilesh Kulkarni, Robin Morris, Munaf Patel and Rohit Sharma.

Stand-byes: Santosh Shinde, Abhijit Shetye, Abhishek Nair, Onkar Khanvilkar and Usman Malvi.

Coach: Chandrakant Pandit.

Trainer: Amogh Pandit.

Pysio: Dr Vipul Chavda.
