Kolkata:Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday decided to approach Bombay High Court with a request for expeditious disposal of the case pertaining to the telecast rights and authorised its president Jagmohan Dalmiya to take necessary actions on the matter.

"The committee decided to advise the Board's lawyers to assist the honourable Court for expeditious disposal of the matter," Dalmiya said after a meeting of BCCI working committee.

The committee discussed at length the legal tussle between ESPN-Star Sports and Zee Telefilms Ltd on the telecast rights for international matches in India for the next four years (October 2004 - September 2008) and authorised Dalmiya to take necessary actions in all related matters.

The Board would also pray for a clarification from the Court on its order of maintaining status quo, Dalmiya said.

"If it means that we should not award the rights but can explore ways to find out a solution in view of the forthcoming Test matches against Australia, then we will go ahead with the deliberations. But if the Court says that we cannot even explore alternatives, then we will be helpless," the BCCI chief said.
