Kolkata:In an apparent setback to Sharad Pawar, none of the representatives of the Maharashtra Cricket Association were allowed to attend the BCCI annual general meeting here today.

The decision was taken by outgoing Board president Jagmohan Dalmiya after a lengthy consultation with legal expert Justice (retd) Bhagwati Prasad Banerjee.

On the other hand, Kishore Rungta's representatives from Rajasthan Cricket Association was accepted, dismissing the claims of Lalit Modi from the same Association.

Kishore Rungta is a known Dalmiya loyalist.

Following this decision, the effective Boards at the AGM now stand at 30, instead of 31 originally.

Two representatives from Maharashtra Cricket Association D Agashe and B Thorve had claimed representation, but none of them had the approval of the two court-appointed observers B G Deshmukh and Madan Singh to oversee the working of the MCA.
