Kolkata:The annual general meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) here, which was adjourned following a stay order passed by the Madras High Court this morning, has resumed.

The meeting began after the court appointed Commissioner Justice (retired) S Mohan verified the copy of the order of Madras High Court and left the meeting hall.

''I have verified the copy of the order and I am satisfied with it. Now the Board will conduct the meeting as per normal practice,'' Justice Mohan told newsmen as he walked out of the venue.

''I am honouring the court order. The court has given an order and I am abiding by it,'' he said.

BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya said that he would now proceed with the AGM.

The meeting was initially adjourned till 2.30 pm before the Board postponed it till 4.00 pm while awaiting a certified copy of the court order. The Board postponed it for yet another hour after getting a copy of the order, which was sought by Justice Mohan.

The order was passed by a division bench of the Madras High Court giving a stay on yesterday's appointment of Commissioner, Justice (retd) S Mohan, by the same court to oversee the BCCI election, which tops the agenda of the AGM.

The proceedings of the meeting was 'kept in abeyance' immediately after it was convened at 11.00 am as the stay order was brought to the notice of the Board.
