Bangalore:India Seniors continued the trend of collective collapse as India 'A' comprising mostly fringe players got them out for 213. Only Sourav Ganguly put up a creditable show, hitting 69 runs while others failed.

Virender Sehwag's -- he made six -- batting woes continued while Aakash Chopra (18), Rahul Dravid (22), VVS Laxman (14) and Yuvraj Singh (14) failed to tick as Ganguly-led India Seniors put up an unimpressive show at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The highest partnership for India Seniors came for the tenth wicket -- between Harbhajan and Kumble who shared a 58-run enterprising partnership, coming together when the team's score read a pathetic 155 for nine wickets and then enabling the outfit to cross the 200 mark.

At seven wickets down for 136, India Seniors faced the prospect of a follow-on but Ganguly, who executed some elegant shots, and tailenders Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble saved the day for them.

The dismal performance by the big boys raised doubts over their level of preparation for the crucial series against Aussies.

At stumps, Dinesh Mongia-led India 'A' were 47 for the loss of the wicket of Gautham Gambhir (0), who was caught by Ganguly off Zaheer Khan.

Dheeraj Jadhav was batting on 27 and Mongia on 19 at the close.

Ganguly, whose 104-ball knock had nine fours, stood among the ruins as the star-studded batting line-up collapsed against a second-rung attack. India seniors wickets fell at regular intervals..Bihar's wicket-keeper-batsman M S Dhoni shone behind the wickets, taking three catches to get Chopra, Laxman and Yuvraj out.

The day also belonged to Joginder Sharma. As the luck would have it, the Haryana medium-pacer, who was not even in the India 'A' playing eleven, was drafted into the team on the second day today after Ashish Nehra hurt his ankle.

Sharma took three wickets for 42 runs, while Amit Bhandari and Murali Kartik had three scalps each.
