Chennai:The Madras High Court today permitted the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to move a revision petition against the City Civil court's order restraining the Board from confirming the appointment of its outgoing president Jagmohan Dalmiya as the patron-in-chief of the Board.

The permission was granted by Justice D Murugesan after BCCI counsel T R Rajagopal made a mention of it before the court.

Rajagopal argued that if the plaintiff, Bharathi Cricket Club of Chennai, a non-member, was permitted to file such suits, then there would no end to such cases.

On a petition filed by the club yesterday, the VII Assistant Judge of the City Civil Court, M Mohideenpitchai, had in an ad-interim injunction, restrained till October 11, the BCCI from confirming the appointment of Jagmohan Dalmiya as its patron-in-chief.
