BANGALORE:India's frontline batsmen may not be in their best form but coach John Wright has "huge trust and belief: in his players who he says should perform well against Australia, hungry for a win this time around.

"I have huge trust and belief in the side. We have world-class players. I have seen them performing consistently for the last 12 months," Wright told reporters here today.

The coach, who was part of the selection committee meeting which picked a 15-member squad for the first two Tests against Australia starting next week, said there were seven to eight batsmen who played well against good opposition and their performance in home and away series against Australia was quite evident.

"We have played good cricket against them. We respect them. They are rated number one," Wright said referring to the last home and away series against Australia.

Australia are yet to conquer their "Final Frontier" since Bill Lawry led side won on Indian soil in 1969.

Wright, however, warned of a backlash from the Australians this time around.

"We know that they will be very hungry because they have not won (against India) for a long time.

"It would be an exciting series. We enjoy playing against them. Conditions are unique (in India). We play well at home," he said.
