Smoking banned for Pak-Lanka tie in Karachi

Karachi:Stringent security measures are put in place for Wednesday's Paktel Cup tri-series match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the National Side here, the Sindh police said here.

Smoking will not be allowed inside the National Side enclosures. Spectators would also not be allowed to bring in lighters or matches.

Police sources said tickets would not be sold on the day of the match at the stadium and only spectators with tickets, duty passes and invitation cards from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would be allowed entry.

Further, vehicles with parking lot A stickers would be allowed through the main entrance of the stadium. Other spectators have the option of parking at the Expo Centre, National Coaching Centre, or the Army residential parking area.

The PCB has made elaborate arrangements at the stadium for drinking water and in regard to that, spectators would also not be allowed to bring thermoses or water bottles.

Food kiosks would also be set up inside the stadium and spectators will not be allowed to bring in bags or boxes or eatables inside the stadium.

Cameras, binoculars, radio sets and any other metal-made items would also not be permitted inside the stadium.

Only mobile phone sets would be allowed.
